Whenever I try to open a PDF file from the internet, the file pops up briefly, so I know my computer is accessing it, but within a few seconds I get the message, “A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 Standard cannot continue. Please reinstall the application and try again.” I have the Adobe 9 reader installed, but even when I had 8.0 installed I got the message. What can I do?

Did you Uninstall Adobe 8 or did you just install 9, leaving 8 as well? If you still have both you are getting conflicting error. Uninstall both, REBOOT! <—– cleans memory after uninstall Reload adobe 9.. Will fix issue Also I am not sure what browser you are using but I know Firefox actually has an Adobe plug-in.
