I’m not sure what language I want to learn yet but I want to learn something. I always seen a "How to Learn" language programs at Best Buy or something. Can anyone recommend a program that I can purchase at a retail store that helps you learn a specific language?

What is sent to a program when we open a specific file using that program ? I mean for example when we open a "doc" file with MS Word how Word find that file ?
( I do not mean opening the file from the program , i mean opening a file that is associated with that program by double clicking the file or draging and droping the file on the programs )
Is it like piping in DOS ?

I need a very simple, but very specific, program for scheduling. I have tried designing something in Excel, but it doesn’t do exactly what I want. So now I’m looking at trying to design a program from scratch. Ten years ago I was a web designer and toyed with computers some, but my knowledge is a little rusty.

So my question is this: Is there a "What You See Is What You Get" (don’t even know if they use this phrase anymore) program designing program? Hopefully something inexpensive or free?

I have seen people with a program that makes your desktop a house. For example you would move through it and maybe go downstairs and get to a picture on the "wall" and it would say applications on it so you press something and it opens applications. But, what’s the program?

I have a program saved on my flash drive that I need to install on my laptop. I have gone to the "run" prompt and browsed for the flash drive but when i chose the program it didn’t install. How do I install this program on my hard drive?
