It is annoying it also wont let me select it and begin writing new text, it just adds on. Is there something I pushed? How do I get it back? HELP!

This is a Word option setting. Here’s how to fix it: Word versions prior to Word 2007: 1.Click on the Tools->Options menu item. 2.Click the Edit tab. 3.Under Editing Options, check the check box next to “Typing replaces selection”. 4.Click OK. In Word 2007: 1.Click the Office button in the upper-left corner. 2.Click the Word Options button. 3.Click the Advanced tab. 4.Under Editing, check the check box next to “Typing replaces selected text”. 5.Click OK. That should do it.
