Answer:
Are you trying to install the Microsoft Windows version of Office onto the iMac? That won’t work. You’ll see a million files, none of which you can use. You’ll need a Mac version. Usually very straight forward, click on the installer, which should be pretty obvious if you have the right version of the software. If you do have the Mac version, follow this http://www.entourage.mvps.org/install/print.html If you don’t you need to: 1) Buy the Mac Version 2) Buy Apple iWork instead 3) Download openoffice for free instead www.openoffice.org edit: Office 2007 is definitely a Windows only version. Check out pricegrabber.com for deals on Office 2008 (Mac). If you are a student, you can get a discounted academic version. As stated below, you can also install Windows on your Mac, but then you have to boot Windows every time you want to use Office.Given you are having issues installing software, installing Windows on your Mac is probably a “bridge too far” for you. I’d download Open Office (www.openoffice.org) free for now, and then buy Apple iWork (or maybe Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac) when you can.
